Stardust: 25th Anniversary
Welcome to Stardust
For twenty-five years, One to One has brought together an extraordinary community of people who believe that every child deserves not only to survive, but to thrive, and that no child should be denied the opportunity to fulfil their potential because of illness, trauma or the circumstances into which they are born.
The night sky has always offered guidance. From our earliest fundraising treks across the deserts of the Middle East and the mountains of Africa, we joined generations who looked to the stars for direction, hope and possibility.
In many ways, the story of One to One has been shaped by the thousands of supporters, volunteers, partners, staff members and community leaders who have helped illuminate a path towards a better future for children and families facing life’s greatest challenges.
What began as a small charity with a simple belief in the power of human connection has grown into something far greater than we could ever have imagined. Together, we have walked alongside communities as mothers have accessed healthcare, children have flourished and local people have become the leaders of lasting change.
This year marks a defining moment in our history. As we celebrate twenty-five years of One to One, we also celebrate the independence of One to One Africa, fulfilling our long held vision of local leadership and lasting sustainability.
The following video is a snapshot of this history.
To secure that future, we raised over £470,000 during Stardust this year, providing the strong foundation from which One to One Africa can continue to grow and bring hope, health and opportunity to many thousands more children and families.
Above all, Stardust is a moment of gratitude.
To our remarkable supporters and partners, our wonderful trustees, our inspirational staff teams in both the UK and South Africa, and to everyone who has helped make this journey possible, thank you.
But our deepest gratitude belongs to the mothers, children and communities who welcomed us into their lives and trusted us to walk alongside them. We have had the privilege of seeing lives transformed from trauma and displacement, and from life threatening HIV diagnoses, into stories of resilience, leadership and hope. So many of those we set out to support have become extraordinary role models in their own communities and beyond. They have been our greatest inspiration. In truth, while we may have helped change lives, those lives have changed us too.
Thank you for being part of this remarkable journey, and for helping to ensure that its brightest chapters are still to come.
It’s not too late to play your part, donate today and your generosity will be included in our goal of raising £500,000 for our 25 year anniversary!
