Stardust: 25th Anniversary
Stardust: Reflections and Looking Forward
For twenty-five years, One to One has brought together an extraordinary community of people who believe that every child deserves not only to survive, but to thrive, and that no child should be denied the opportunity to fulfil their potential because of illness, trauma or the circumstances into which they are born.
The night sky has always offered guidance. From our earliest fundraising treks across the deserts of the Middle East and the mountains of Africa, we joined generations who looked to the stars for direction, hope and possibility.
In many ways, the story of One to One has been shaped by the thousands of supporters, volunteers, partners, staff members and community leaders who have helped illuminate a path towards a better future for children and families facing life’s greatest challenges.
What began as a small charity with a simple belief in the power of human connection has grown into something far greater than we could ever have imagined. Together, we have walked alongside communities as mothers have accessed healthcare, children have flourished and local people have become the leaders of lasting change.
This year marks a defining moment in our history. As we celebrate twenty-five years of One to One, we also celebrate the independence of One to One Africa, fulfilling our long held vision of local leadership and lasting sustainability.
The following video is a snapshot of this history.
To secure that future, we raised over £470,000 during Stardust this year, providing the strong foundation from which One to One Africa can continue to grow and bring hope, health and opportunity to many thousands more children and families.
Above all, Stardust has been a moment of gratitude.
Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who made this extraordinary celebration possible. To those who gave their time, talent and creativity; to those who hosted tables, sponsored the evening, donated and bid for auction items, funded our second fully equipped mobile clinic, made pledges and committed to supporting our work into the future, thank you.
We are equally grateful to our remarkable patrons, ambassadors and performers, our supporters and partners, our dedicated trustees, and our inspirational staff teams in both the UK and South Africa. Every contribution, whether seen or unseen, has helped make this journey possible.
This milestone belongs to us all,
David
