From 10-21 March 2025, One to One Children’s Fund and One to One Africa (OTO) participated in the 69th annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), the UN’s largest annual gathering on gender equality and women’s empowerment. This year’s theme was focused on the 30-year anniversary of the signing of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
CSW plays a vital role in advancing the global agenda for gender equality, fostering dialogue, driving policy change, and inspiring and mobilising action towards transformative progress while ensuring alignment with contemporary discourse and language around gender equity. For One to One, it was a unique opportunity to engage with global stakeholders, including international government representatives, prominent funders, and like-minded civil society organisations committed to maternal-child healthcare and comprehensive community development.
OTO was invited to be part of the official South African delegation and to co-host an official side event, in collaboration with the South African Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD) and the South African Permanent Mission to the United Nations (PMUN). The session marked a major leap forward in our global advocacy efforts and was a proud evolution from our CSW68 participation in 2024.
