It is humbling to be part of a concerted effort by governments and NGOs in sub-Saharan Africa to extend HIV treatment programmes to hundreds of thousands of children.

I am writing this from Kwazekele township near Port Elizabeth, South Africa – where I have just attended a retirement tribute event for Sister Nonkosi Ndlasi, one of our inspirational project coordinators.
