New One to One Children’s Fund Programme with EU in Kosovo

One to One Children’s Fund has been awarded a grant by the European Commission to provide social services to disabled and vulnerable children in Kosovo. Building on its 10-year presence in Kosovo providing counselling services to families and training psychosocial counsellors, One to One has now been given the opportunity to fill in a crucial gap in services for children with special needs. The new programme was launched on 15 January and will benefit as many as 500 children in 5 target municipalities. Two day care centres will provide essential educational services, counselling and respite for carers, and other local organisations will see their capacity strengthening to provide community based social services.

New Additions to the Team

Trevor Rowe has joined the One to One office to assist the Charity in a number of areas including strategy, communications and fundraising. He will also be helping One to One improve its database of supporters. Trevor is a highly experienced interim manager and has previously assisted One to One with its strategic and business planning.

Celia Leaberry Gould has joined the One to One office on a part-time basis to assist with fundraising and will focus on the development of key relationships with supporters in the corporate sector. Celia brings a wealth of corporate sector experience, having worked as a recruitment consultant and prior to that in equity research at Deutsche Bank. In the Autumn Celia will move to Israel with her husband Matthew Gould who will then take up the post of UK Ambassador to Israel.

David Altschuler, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, says, ‘I am delighted that both Celia and Trevor are able to join us. They will help us progress new fundraising initiatives which we need for our ongoing support of children in need.’

The Funding Network

The One to One team had the fantastic opportunity to present its Expert Patient programme to members of the Funding Network and was able to raise £7,000 in 12 minutes! The Funding Network’s events are a unique opportunity for donors to engage with innovative social change projects that need funding and support. We are thrilled to have gained the support of more donors for this significant grassroot programmes which requires £90,000 per annum.
