David Altschuler - Chairman of the Board of Trustees
David has extensive experience in initiating and managing charity projects.
He was founding chairman of the charity, Refusenik and co-founded The
One to One Children’s Fund with Rita Eker, MBE. David is also the chairman of the Steering Committee of the South Africa based organisation Paediatric AIDS Treatment for Africa (PATA), a Director
of the New Israel Fund Ltd, and until recently was a long-standing Trustee of the Family & Parenting Institute.
David Altschuler qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa
and joined Marks & Spencer plc as Group Treasurer in 1977. In 1980, he jointly founded National Leasing & Finance Co., and
has subsequently been responsible for setting up a diversity of projects,
including the Capricorn Science Park in Cape Town, South Africa, and
bio-technology companies, Inpharmatica Ltd., and Arrow Therapeutics Ltd,
in partnership with University College London.

Jenny Altschuler
Jenny Altschuler is a consultant clinical psychologist and family psychotherapist who has spent much of her professional life working in the public sector, most recently at the Tavistock Clinic, London. Her work focused on families affected by life limiting illness, trauma and the training of health care professionals. Jenny now works as an independent psychotherapist as well as supervisor and consultant to medical and mental health professionals working in a wide range of health care settings. She has also written extensively on ways of addressing the challenges that illness and trauma present. Jenny has been instrumental in setting up our counselling centres in Kosovo, and continues to oversee the training and supervision of the counsellors who work in these centres. Jenny also oversees the clinical aspects of our Israeli-Palestinian trauma healing and Child Resilience projects. Her expertise is particularly relevant in advising on our HIV/AIDS initiatives, including our Expert Patient Programme and the work of PATA (Paediatric AIDS Treatment for Africa).
Rita Eker, MBE
Rita co-founded The One to One Children’s Fund in 1997 and was honoured
with an MBE in 1999 for her work over the previous 15 years. Rita provides
her services to the organisation as a full-time volunteer. Rita Eker was a founder and co-chairman of the 35’s Women’s Campaign
for Soviet Jewry, and made a major contribution to securing the release
of prisoners of conscience and the ultimate freedom of emigration for
all Soviet Jews.
Lawrence Gould
Lawrence Gould qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the UK, in 1984,
with Coopers and Lybrand. Lawrence has been involved in accounting and commerce for over 25 years,
specialising in high growth creative businesses. Lawrence was the Chief
Financial Officer of Getty Images Inc and its predecessor companies from
1990 to 1999. He is now founder and CEO of the stock photo library Vivozoom.
Lawrence has substantial experience in evaluation, monitoring and management
of businesses and organisations, which has proved invaluable to the One
to One Children’s Fund and its projects
Kevin Gundle
Kevin co-founded Aurum Funds Ltd, a London based investment advisory
company that specialises in alternative investment strategies based upon
long term objectives. He is also associated with a diverse group of international
companies and venture capital interests. Kevin is also a trustee of ARK (Absolute Return for Kids), which is
a charity that has been established by the Hedge Fund Industry to raise
substantial funds for a range of children’s charities and projects around
the world. Kevin Gundle holds a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Computer
and Control Engineering.

Lauren Jacobson
Lauren Jacobson was Director of the
One to One Children's Fund until Spring 2010 when she moved up to the Board of Trustees. She brings a wealth
of skills and experience to the organisation. A lawyer by training, Lauren built a highly successful legal career in
South Africa, specialising in human rights and media law. Lauren
has lectured in media law, ethics and public interest law and taken a leading role in furthering
the cause of women and those disadvantaged in South Africa. She has worked at a senior level in the UK government, notably as policy consultant at the UK Department for Constitutional
Affairs (now the Ministry of Justice) advising on the UK Supreme Court, as well as freedom of information and human rights. More
